Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor Test Sticks
The test sticks come in packages of 30 and have a shelf life - be sure to read the label before buying.
The Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor Test Sticks are an important part of your fertility monitoring routine. Without them, the monitor itself is worthless. Never fear, however, because the company (Unipath Diagnostics Incorporated) makes and distributes plenty of these to cover every one of their test units sold.
Keep in mind that the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor Test Sticks are only to be used with this particular fertility monitor! There are other similar test units out there with their own test "sticks," but only use the ones sold for the Clearblue model.
Clearblue Test Sticks are usually sold in packages of 30. This is normally good for three months of testing, but always read the instructions that comes with them. A general rule is that most couples who conceive have had intercourse during the six days leading up to and including the day of ovulation. So testing (in accordance to the instructions) to determine exactly when this period of ovulation is going to occur is the idea here. But according to the company, the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor is the first of its kind: The only technology that is based solely on hormone monitoring.
This is how it works: Take a test stick out of its sealed package. Holding it by the non-testing end and facing downwards, place it into your urine stream for about three seconds. This should be your first urine of the day, and while you are in your "testing window." (This window starts a few days into your monthly cycle.) After wetting the stick, you place the cap over the wet end and place it into the monitor to get the results.
Make Sure The Sticks Are In Date After checking reviews on Amazon about the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor Test Sticks, I ran across a couple reviews where people said they've ordered them but found them out of date when they arrived via UPS to their homes. This would NOT be good, as expired test sticks give innaccurate information to the test monitor.
Make Sure You Have Enough Sticks Beware of "free shipping" deals for your Clear Blue Test Sticks. One person wrote that she went for the free shipping and waited and waited - while a friend who paid for shipping got hers right away. Don't be stuck without test sticks when your monitor is telling you to test!
